There is a lot of doubt and skepticism. If this is you than Congratulations!! YOU are NORMAL! This industry is a lifestyle change! Are we ever comfortable with a change in our lifestyle? Well let’s see if there is any way we can make it easier.

I am going through a MAJOR lifestyle change. I currently serve active duty in the military. I started a home business to ensure that when it is my time to get out I have something stable to secure a future for me and my family and spend time at home. Now coming from a military background, going into Network Marketing seemed like something totally foreign. There is nothing that could compare from one career to the other... Or is there?

First I think that everyone needs to understand what networking really is. Many people think that networking is signing people up to join your business and doing whatever it takes to make that happen. Though that might be the most desirable outcome, that is not what networking itself is about. Networking is talking to people - getting to know people and understanding what drives them. You should want to understand how to talk to different people with different personalities, what they are looking for, and how you can help them.

Now how does anything from my background compare to networking? I feel that there is more similarities than most people would think. You have to look outside the box. Here we go...

How can my background compare to working from home? Once I understood what networking was it became much easier to see similarities. Day in and day out I work with many different people and I have to understand how exactly to work with them. I have to know how to get people to respond to me so that we can get our job done. We have to work together and our lives depend on it. We depend on each other....we depend on networking.

Now, when I first started my business I would have never imagined that anything I have done in my career would help me in network marketing. I thought I would be lost. Then I started to look outside the box. I realized that I have an awesome foundation to take into my home business, and this holds true to many people from many different backgrounds.

Lifestyle changes do not have to be scary. Once you can look at things from a different perspective, you will start to see things that you didn’t realize were there. You will begin to see similarities where you thought there were differences. You will begin to understand not only what networking is, but how to do it, and maybe even how you have done it before. Don’t be afraid to try new things, don’t be afraid of a change in your lifestyle. You have to hit the ground running, fear will only keep you from your success in life.
